The 10th Anniversary celebration of the Ga West Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana reached a memorable climax on the evening of Friday, June 12, 2026, with the lighting of a ceremonial bonfire and a spirit‑filled Gospel Explosion.
The anniversary bonfire was lit to the glory of God by the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee, assisted by the Presbytery Clerk, Rev. Kennedy Kofi Asante Sarpong, together with members of the Presbytery Council. The symbolic act marked a significant highlight of the Presbytery’s year‑long celebration of ten years of ministry, growth, and service.
After the bonfire lighting, Rev. Pobee delivered a brief but inspiring sermonette to prepare the hearts of members for the climax celebration. Drawing from Luke 1:23ff, he reminded the gathering of God’s abiding presence and faithfulness in challenging times.
He encouraged members not to be afraid, emphasizing that the Lord is with His people and will continue to guide and sustain the Presbytery in its mission. He prayed that the favour of God would continually rest upon every congregation, minister, and member as the Presbytery enters a new season of growth and impact.
The Chairperson’s message resonated strongly with the congregation, setting a deeply spiritual tone for the evening and reaffirming the Presbytery’s dependence on God as the source of its strength and success over the past decade.
Following the bonfire ceremony, members were treated to an uplifting Gospel Explosion concert featuring renowned gospel musician ACP Kofi Sarpong, Sis. Kesewaa Kessy, and Minister Christian Arko. They were joined by several Presbytery music ministers, the Presbytery Choir, and the Davidites of the Kwashieman Trinity Congregation, who thrilled the audience with powerful performances and songs of praise.
As part of the climax celebration, the anniversary cake was ceremonially cut by the Chairperson together with members of the Anniversary Planning Committee, symbolizing gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout the Presbytery’s ten‑year journey.
The atmosphere was filled with thanksgiving, worship, and joyful celebration as ministers, members, and guests gathered to commemorate a decade of God’s grace and blessings upon the Ga West Presbytery. As the bonfire illuminated the night sky and songs of praise echoed across the venue at the Kaneshie Congregation, the event served as a powerful reminder of God’s unfailing faithfulness.
The night not only celebrated past achievements but also rekindled the collective commitment of ministers and members to advance the mission of Christ, trusting that the same God who has sustained the Presbytery thus far will lead it into even greater heights in the years ahead.
