In a remarkable demonstration of Christian service and community commitment, the Emmanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Gomoa Ekwamkrom, has donated a newly constructed bus stop seat to the people of Gomoa Ekwamkrom as part of activities marking the congregation’s 35th Anniversary Celebration.

The donation underscores the church’s dedication not only to the spiritual growth of its members but also to the socio‑economic development and well‑being of the community it serves. Presenting the facility on behalf of the congregation, Rev. Stephen Kofi Anarfi, District Minister, assisted by Rev. Joseph Affoh, Attached Minister, and Catechist Paa Willie Aggrey, formally handed over the bus stop seat to the Chief of Gomoa Ekwamkrom, Nana Dr. Okoagyeman Euhaa II.

During the brief ceremony, church leaders explained that the project was undertaken as a practical expression of gratitude to the community that has hosted and supported the congregation for more than three decades. They noted that the anniversary celebration offered an opportunity not only to reflect on God’s faithfulness but also to make a meaningful contribution that would benefit residents and visitors alike.

Receiving the facility on behalf of the traditional authorities and the people, Nana Dr. Okoagyeman Euhaa II expressed profound appreciation to the church for the thoughtful gesture. He observed that the bus stop seat would significantly improve the commuting experience of residents—particularly schoolchildren, the elderly, traders, and other passengers who rely on public transportation. According to the Chief, providing a comfortable waiting area enhances convenience, dignity, and safety while encouraging greater use of public transport within the community.

Hon. Kweku Essel, Assembly Member for the area, also commended the church for its continued partnership in advancing community development. He noted that the donation reflects the important role faith‑based organisations play in complementing government efforts to improve living conditions and provide essential social infrastructure. He encouraged other institutions, corporate bodies, and individuals to emulate the Presbyterian Church by investing in projects that directly address community needs.

The donation forms part of several activities organised to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Emmanuel Congregation. Over the years, the congregation has remained committed to the PCG’s holistic ministry philosophy, which integrates evangelism with social responsibility and community transformation.

Residents who witnessed the presentation described the project as timely and beneficial, expressing appreciation to the church leadership and members for their generosity and vision.
