The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has urged members of the Church to uphold unity, reject all forms of discrimination, and support ongoing development initiatives that advance the mission of the PCG.

Speaking during the second day of his official working visit to the Ga West Presbytery at the Very Rev. Max Dodu Memorial Congregation, Lartebiokorshie, the Moderator expressed concern about attitudes that divide members along ethnic, family, or social lines. He cautioned that such tendencies weaken the witness of the Church and contradict the spirit of Christian fellowship.

“Let us stay united as a Church. Stop discriminating. As members of the Church, we should be mindful of clannishness,” he said, urging congregations to consciously guard against practices that undermine the unity of the body of Christ.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye reminded members that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has grown through the sacrifices, commitment, and collective efforts of generations of faithful leaders and congregants. “The Church is growing in leaps and bounds, and what we enjoy today is a heritage that has been handed over to us,” he noted. He therefore challenged the present generation to preserve this legacy by promoting peace, inclusiveness, and mutual respect.

The Moderator also appealed to Presbyterians across the country and in the diaspora to rally behind the Kuntunse Project, describing it as a strategic national initiative that requires the full support of the entire Church. He emphasized that the successful completion of the project will significantly enhance the Church’s capacity for mission, administration, and future development. He encouraged Congregations, Districts, and Presbyteries to participate actively in fundraising and other support activities.

The Moderator’s visit continues to provide a platform for engagement, reflection, and renewed commitment among ministers and members of the Ga West Presbytery as the Church pursues its mission of transforming lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye was accompanied by his wife, Mama Benedicta Kwakye, his Personal Assistant, Rev. Karl H. Clerk, and other staff of the General Assembly Office.
