Ga Presbytery donates GHS85K Hematology Analyzer
The Ga Presbytery has strengthened healthcare delivery in the Nungua community with the donation of a Hematology (Full Blood Count) Analyzer valued at GH¢85,000 to the Zimmermann Presbyterian Health Clinic.
The presentation was led by the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Col. David Adoteye‑Asare, whose visit highlighted the church’s ongoing commitment to holistic ministry and community wellbeing.
Until now, the clinic depended on external laboratories for Full Blood Count (FBC) tests—a situation that often resulted in delays of 24 to 48 hours, increased transportation risks for samples, and challenges in providing timely emergency care.
The absence of an in‑house analyzer also affected malaria diagnosis and haemoglobin (HB) testing for pregnant women, creating gaps in urgent clinical decision‑making.
The new Hematology Analyzer is expected to transform service delivery at the facility. It will enable prompt HB and FBC testing for pregnant women, children, and other patients, reduce reliance on external laboratories, and significantly shorten the time required for diagnosis and treatment.
The equipment will also lower laboratory costs for patients, improve safety by eliminating transportation risks associated with sample movement, and enhance the clinic’s compliance with healthcare regulatory standards.
Leaders of the Zimmermann Presbyterian Health Clinic expressed deep appreciation to the Ga Presbytery, particularly the Chairperson, for what they described as a thoughtful and strategic investment in quality healthcare. They noted that the donation will directly improve patient outcomes and strengthen the clinic’s capacity to serve the growing needs of the community.
