PWC Abokobi holds workshop for BECE graduates
The Presbyterian Women’s Centre, Abokobi, has organised a transformative life‑skills workshop for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates within the congregation, offering them practical guidance and support as they prepare for the next phase of their academic and personal journey.
The one‑day programme went far beyond the usual post‑BECE engagements. It created a safe and nurturing space where young people engaged in meaningful conversations on mental health, received free counselling, and participated in sessions designed to strengthen their emotional resilience.
Facilitators emphasised the importance of self‑awareness, confidence, and healthy coping strategies as the students transition into senior high school. Participants also benefited from career guidance, where professionals helped them explore future pathways, understand their strengths, and make informed decisions about their academic choices.
A session on personal grooming and etiquette equipped the graduates with essential social skills, while the leadership development module encouraged them to cultivate discipline, responsibility, and a positive mindset.
The workshop ended with a brief ceremony during which certificates were presented to all participants, celebrating their commitment, growth, and active participation. Parents and leaders commended the initiative, describing it as timely and deeply impactful.
PWC Abokobi expressed pride in the graduates and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting young people through holistic development programmes. “To our BECE graduates, congratulations once again. As you await your results, keep believing in yourselves; your future is bright” the PWC said in a Facebook post.
