Newly commissioned ministers of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana have been urged to remain disciplined, value‑driven, and deeply committed to the Gospel as they step into their sacred calling.
The charge was delivered during the 2026 OMT‑LIM graduation ceremony—the fourth of its kind—held at the Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC). Probationers were reminded that ministry demands conviction, character, and unwavering faithfulness to Christ.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, Rev. Victor Asiamah Amponsah, noted that ministers are called to be “agents of positive change” in both the church and society. He stressed that the youth and younger members look up to ministers for guidance, discipline, and principled leadership. Quoting 1 Peter 2:9, he said ministers must “guide people out of darkness into God’s marvelous light.”
The graduates appealed for continued mentorship from the church and senior ministers as they begin their pastoral journey. “We pray for the continual guidance and mentorship of the Church and our senior ministers on the field as we step into this sacred task,” the speaker said.
Reflecting on the church’s theme, “Celebrating Our Heritage, Building on the Foundation Already Laid,” he emphasised that the foundation of ministry is Christ Himself. Citing 1 Corinthians 3:11, he reminded his colleagues that “no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
He added that Scripture warns that how ministers build on this foundation matters (1 Corinthians 3:12), urging them to build faithfully with the right spiritual materials—commitment to the Word of God and loyalty to the tenets of the church.
The graduates acknowledged the rigorous training they received from God and through the Ramseyer Training Centre. They were reminded that wherever they serve, “the Lord Almighty, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, and the Ramseyer Training Centre are watching you.” This, they said, should inspire accountability, humility, and excellence in ministry.
