Presbyterian Church of Ghana honours PRESEC Legon with 2000 dollars for winning NSMQ
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has congratulated the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon for winning the 2020 National Maths and Science Quiz (NMSQ) Thursday 8TH October 2020.
They defeated the Adisadel College and Opoku Ware Senior High School in the final contest which took place at the University of Ghana, Legon to clinch the title for the sixth time since the inception of the competition.
The PCG on Wednesday presented two thousand dollars and the Church’s branded trophy to the school for winning the competition this year.
Making the presentation to the school on Wednesday at the Hill View Hotel in Accra where the Church is holding a consultation on Education, The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante didn’t hide his joy for seeing the team who made the school proud.
He said last year when PRESEC placed second in the competition, he promised the school two thousand dollars if they are able to win this year’s contest.
He said PRESEC had brought a great honour to the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. “You have made us proud and I have no doubt in my mind that you can compete with any school in the world. I pray that God will take you far” the Moderator said.
The Moderator assured all that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana would continue to support its schools to live up to expectation.
The PCG last year supported PRESEC with GHC310, 000 to refurbish the Information, Communication Technology laboratory which has been completed and dedicated.
The Moderator also on behalf of the Church presented undisclosed amount of money to the Aburi Presbyterian Senior High and Technical School for reaching the Semi-final stage of the competition.
