Moderator visits Asante Presbytery
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has begun a ten- day pastoral working visit to the Asante Presbytery from Thursday 17th to Sunday 27th February 2022.
The Moderator will visit all the 41 Pastoral Districts within the Presbytery where District Ministers will present situational reports and give account of their stewardship.
The purpose of the visit is to acquaint himself with the progress of mission work in the Presbytery especially how the outbreak of the COVID-19 affected the church.
The Moderator will also visit educational institutions within the Presbytery, pays courtesy calls on political and traditional leadership within the Presbytery, dedicate completed projects and cut sod for construction of new projects.
The Moderator on Thursday 17th January 2022 arrived at the Presbytery Office in Kumasi and was welcome by the Presbytery Council Standing Committee led by the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev Benson Osafo Kantanka.
The Moderator at a meeting with the Ministers in the Presbytery commended the Presbytery for keeping the Church alive in spite of all the challenges posed by COVID-19 and other factors.
He said the Asante Presbytery is currently leading in the construction of pavilions for congregations in rural areas.
The Moderator has so far visited the following Pastoral Districts; Kumasi, Adiebeba, Asokwa, Atonsu, Ahinsan, Patasi and Santasi.
Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante has also visited the Ramseyer Vocational and Technical Institute, Presbyterian Girls Senior High School and the Bible Study and Prayer Group Centre.
The Moderator also visited the Presbyterian Centre for Vocational Instructors’ Development (PRECEVID).
All the places the moderator visited, he encouraged the Agents, Presbyters and the church members to work towards Vision 1.5 which is the core business of the Church.
The Moderator is accompanied by the Asante Presbytery Chairperson Rev Benson Osafo Kantanka, wife of the Moderator, Mrs. Florence Mante, the Public Relations Officer of the Church, Rev George Larbi, Ms. Betty Asare Antwi Dua, Asante Presbytery Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council, Rev Benjamin Saabi Otchere, Presbytery Clerk and some other Ministers within the Presbytery.
