PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TRAINING FOR HEAD OFFICE STAFF
The Administration and Human Resources Management of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana under the leadership of Rev. George Obeng Agyei has successfully organized a comprehensive training session on Performance Management Systems (PMS) for staff at its Head Office in Accra. The workshop, held on January 23, 2025, aimed to enhance organizational efficiency and ensure that employees are equipped to deliver on their areas of responsibility.
The training brought together all the staff members including Departmental Directors and Unit Managers. The workshop was facilitated by a human resource practitioner, Mrs. Patience Korankye, who emphasized the critical role of the Performance Management System in achieving institutional goals. Topics covered included goal setting, performance appraisal, feedback mechanisms, and aligning individual roles with organizational objectives.
The Church’s mission requires excellence, and we must empower our staff with the tools and knowledge to meet evolving challenges effectively. In line with the Church’s strategic plan, the workshop enlightened the staff that PMS is for clear expectations, continuous feedback, career development, goal alignment, improved communication, and more so, to reduce stress.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions, group discussions, and case studies, which provided practical insights into setting targets and fostering a culture of accountability. The staff appreciated the initiative, highlighting its relevance to their daily responsibilities.
The initiative is part of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s broader strategy to build institutional capacity and promote excellence in service delivery. By investing in staff development, the Church reinforces its commitment to maintaining high standards in ministry and administration.
The training concluded with a call to action for all participants to apply the lessons learned to their respective roles, ensuring the Presbyterian Church of Ghana continues to thrive in its mission of faith, service, and transformation.
