The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has warmly received His Gracious Majesty Oseadeeyo Dr Frimpong Manso IV, Chief of the Akyem Kotoku State in a courtesy call to the General Assembly Office in Accra.
Responding to the Chief’s message of brotherliness, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye expressed deep appreciation for the visit, noting the longstanding relationship between the PCG and the Kotoku State.
“Your words are inspiring, we’re happy to have you here. It’s good that we’ve heard from you,” he said. “Relations between the state of Kotoku and PCG is one that goes back. We’ve a Presbytery in Akyem Oda; Chiefs of communities within which the church operates have supported us well.”
The Moderator encouraged chiefs from Akyem Kotoku to feel confident in their dealings with the PCG, highlighting the church’s commitment to both spiritual and social development. “Our West Akyem Presbytery holds the record of having the first woman Chairperson,” he noted.
“The PCG is not only involved in the preaching of God’s word but also in social services. We believe that when minds are transformed, societies will be transformed. That’s why we preach the word of God which transforms the mind.”
The Moderator further underscored the mutual desire to strengthen collaboration between the church and traditional leadership, rooted in shared values and a common vision for community development.
