Joyful welcome for Moderator in Kasoa
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has begun his pastoral visit to the Central Presbytery, opening the tour in the Kasoa Zone with a spirited welcome.
From the moment his entourage arrived, the atmosphere in Kasoa was charged with excitement. The Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Fiifi Foh Arkhurst, led the Moderator to the Emmanuel Congregation, where ministers, catechists, presbyters, and congregants had gathered in anticipation.
The Emmanuel Congregation’s Boys and Girls Brigade brass band struck up jubilant tunes, filling the air with rhythm and energy as the Moderator was ushered into the zone. Cheers, songs, and dancing accompanied the Moderator’s arrival, while personnel from the Ghana Police Service guided the team into the church compound with order.
Along the road leading to the Emmanuel Presbyterian School and the church compound, students stood proudly waving Presbyterian flags, their youthful voices and bright smiles adding to the warmth of the occasion. It was a scene that captured the unity of the church, young and old, leaders and laity — all coming together to honour the Moderator.
The pastoral visit will span about a dozen districts, grouped into four zones. The Kasoa Zone includes Kasoa, Nyanyano, Kasoa North, and Kasoa South districts. The Swedru Zone covers Swedru, Swedru North, Kwanyako, and Winneba districts. The Asikuma Zone comprises Asikuma Bisease and Brakwa districts, while the Nsaba Zone brings together Nsaba, Nyakrom, and Akroso districts.
The Moderator, through this visit, is on mission to strengthen fellowship, encourage congregations, and reaffirm the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s commitment to nurturing faith and service. The joyous welcome in Kasoa set the tone for what promises to be a deeply meaningful pastoral engagement across the Central Presbytery.
