Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education holds 16th congregation
The Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education (APWCOE) has held its 16th congregation, marking a significant moment for graduates of the institution.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities, including the Council Chairman, Rev. Prof. Seth Asare Danso; guest speaker, Prof. Mrs. Georgina Yaa Oduro; and the Municipal Chief Executive of Asante Akim North, Hon. Sarah Amoakaa, an alumna of the college.
The Principal, Prof. Lydia Aframea Dankyi, was also in attendance, alongside Rev. Mrs. Hannah Yeboah, Acting Chairperson for Asante Akyem, who represented the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
Coming under the theme: “Transforming Lives through Education and ICT: The Role of the 21st Female Teacher,” the congregation saw 466 students graduate, including 172 from Primary Education and 294 from Junior High School Education.
Notably, 82 students achieved first‑class honours. The Council Chairman congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to pursue further studies. Graduates were formally ushered into the Old Girls Alumni Association by Alumni President, Dr. Veronica Adu Brobbey.
The valedictorian, Afrifa Appau Elizabeth, expressed gratitude to the college for shaping their lives, reminding colleagues that graduation is not an end but a beginning. She urged them to use their knowledge with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
The event was both a celebration of achievement and a testament to APWCOE’s commitment to delivering quality education. Accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba, the college offers Bachelor of Education degree programmes in Early Grade Education, Primary Education, and Junior High School Education.
