Asante South Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Daniel Brobbey, has urged Children’s Service Teachers to ensure their own lives are firmly rooted in Christ before attempting to lead children, stressing at the 2026 National Delegates’ Conference in Dunkwa‑on‑Offin that only those anchored in Christ can withstand today’s moral pressures and faithfully nurture the next generation.

The charge was delivered during the Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 3rd May, which marked the climax of the four‑day conference of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) Children’s Service Teachers’ Fellowship.

Preaching on the theme “Anchored in Christ,” Rev. Brobbey drew from Acts 7, 1 Peter 2, and John 14 to emphasise that spiritual grounding is essential for anyone entrusted with shaping the faith of children in an increasingly complex world.

The conference, held at the Resurrection Congregation from Friday, 1st May, brought together delegates from all 21 Presbyteries across Ghana as well as representatives from overseas mission fields. It was centred on the theme “Celebrating Our Heritage, Building on the Foundation Already Laid – The Children’s Service Teacher in Today’s World” (1 Corinthians 3:11), a call for teachers to remain anchored in Presbyterian doctrine while navigating the demands of contemporary ministry.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Rev. Brobbey, with the Dunkwa District Minister, Rev. Peterking Owusu Arthur, representing him during the Friday morning session. Declaring the conference officially open, Rev. Peterking welcomed the delegates as “builders of the church’s future” and reminded them that the strength of the Church’s foundation depends heavily on the spiritual nurture offered to children today.

The ceremony also featured a joint address by the National CLAN Director, Rev. Andrew Shardow, and the National President of the Fellowship, Mr. Ernest Kissi Sarfo. Both leaders underscored the need for Children’s Service Teachers to adapt to the rapidly changing global environment while remaining rooted in biblical truth and Presbyterian heritage.
