Dr. Daniel Antwi elected B/A Presbytery Lay Rep to GAC
A Senior Pharmacist at the Yamfo Polyclinic, Dr. Daniel Kusi Antwi, has been elected by the Brong Ahafo Presbytery as its Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council (GAC) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. His election marks a historic moment, as he becomes the youngest Lay Representative ever produced by the Presbytery.
Dr. Antwi was elected on Thursday, May 6, 2026, during the ongoing 60th Presbytery Session held at the Peniel Retreat Centre, Ayakomaso. After leading the nomination stage with 46 votes, he secured a decisive victory in the second round with 100 votes, representing 76.3 percent of the total valid ballots cast.
Born in Berekum in the Bono Region, Dr. Antwi began his education at Freeman Methodist Preparatory School, where he completed both his primary and junior high studies. He continued to Prempeh College for his senior high education before gaining admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.
Driven by a passion for excellence, he pursued further studies at the University of Cincinnati, obtaining a Master’s degree in Pharmacology, and later returned to KNUST to complete his Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Dr. Antwi has distinguished himself through dedicated service to the church and youth ministry. At just 27 years old, he became the youngest Presbyter at the Calvary Congregation, Columbus, Ohio, in the North America/Australia Presbytery. He later served as Youth Superintendent and subsequently Youth Coordinator of that Presbytery.
Currently, Dr. Antwi serves as Presbytery President of the Young Adult Fellowship (YAF) of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, where he continues to inspire young Christians through leadership and mentorship. On the home front, he is a devoted family man, happily married for 13 years, and blessed with three daughters.
Dr. Antwi’s election reflects the Presbytery’s confidence in his integrity, competence, and commitment to the mission of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. His youthful energy and professional insight are expected to enrich deliberations at the General Assembly Council and strengthen the church’s witness in both faith and service.
