The Asante South Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has successfully concluded its 11th Annual Presbytery Session, held at the Andreas Riis Memorial Congregation in the Anyinam District.

The gathering, which ran from Wednesday, 1st April through Friday, 10th April to Sunday, 12th April 2026, brought together ministers, presbyters, and delegates to reflect on the growth and mission of the Presbytery under the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid for Effective Ministry” (1 Corinthians 3:11).

The session opened on 1st April with a hybrid format—an online welcome service followed by in‑person workshop group meetings. The Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Daniel Brobbey, formally constituted the session, setting the tone for days of spiritual renewal and administrative engagement.

The official opening ceremony on Friday, April 10, showcased the rich liturgical heritage of the Church. The morning devotional message, delivered by Rev. Peter Christian Ohemeng‑Manu, challenged leaders to “build with the right materials,” urging them to ensure that their service to God and the Church reflects excellence and enduring value.

Administrative matters featured prominently throughout the session. Under the leadership of the Presbytery Clerk, Rev. Eric Boateng, several new appointments were announced, including Council members, Ministers, Catechists, and Group Representatives—key roles essential to the Presbytery’s continued growth.

Spiritual enrichment balanced the administrative work. A Special Revival Service on Friday evening rekindled the spiritual fervor of participants, while Saturday’s solemn Commemoration of the Faithful Departed, Covenant, and Communion Service provided a moment of reflection and recommitment. During the service, Rev. Brobbey led delegates in renewing their vows, reminding them that their ministry stands firmly on the “Solid Rock” of Christ.

Saturday’s plenary session included the election of Commissioners to the General Assembly, ensuring the Presbytery’s representation at the highest court of the Church. Workshop reports highlighted progress in missions, education, and social interventions. The session concluded with a grand Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 12. Preaching the sermon, Rev. Brobbey urged members to safeguard the heritage of the PCG while embracing innovation for future ministry.

Supported by the Presbytery Lay Representative on the GAC, Mr. Stephen Akore Agyeman, the service also featured a successful fundraising drive for upcoming projects. Delegates departed Anyinam with renewed purpose, confident that the 11th Session had strengthened both the heritage and future direction of the Asante South Presbytery.
