The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has dedicated a newly acquired six‑bedroom mission house for the Ascension Congregation of the New Jersey District.

The ceremony took place over the weekend in West Orange, where the property is located—just eight minutes from the church. The new manse will serve as a residence for the minister‑in‑charge and a place of rest for visiting church officials, significantly enhancing the congregation’s capacity for ministry and hospitality.

According to the Minister‑in‑Charge, Rev. Dr. Ransford K. Awuku‑Gyampoh, the property was purchased at a cost of $1 million, reflecting the congregation’s vision, sacrifice, and commitment to strengthening the work of the Church in the diaspora. During the brief but meaningful ceremony, Rev. C. B. Appenteng presented the keys to the Moderator, who then performed the formal dedication.

In his remarks, Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye commended the Ascension Congregation for their foresight and dedication. He noted that the acquisition of the manse was a significant investment in the future of ministry within the North America–Australia Presbytery.

He encouraged the congregation to maintain the property diligently and expressed hope that other congregations would be inspired to support mission work in similar ways.

The dedication marks an important moment in the life of the Ascension Congregation, underscoring its commitment to providing a stable and welcoming environment for pastoral leadership and advancing the mission of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana abroad.
