Access Bank meets PCG for strategic discussions
A delegation from Access Bank Ghana has paid a courtesy call on the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), expressing the Bank’s desire to build a mutually beneficial partnership with the church.
The visit formed part of Access Bank’s efforts to introduce its products, explore areas of collaboration, and identify opportunities to support the church’s mission and development agenda. The delegation included Senior Adviser for SME Banking, Mr. Sidney Koranteng; Head of SME Sectors, Ms. Katherine Ampomah; Head of Religious Bodies, Ms. Priscilla Kutu; Relationship Manager for Corporate Banking, Mr. Maxwell Ampadu and Head of Assets & Liability Management (ALM) Treasury, Ms. Vera Adjei‑Baah,
The team outlined several initiatives and products that could benefit the PCG, our congregations, and institutions. These included the Bank’s sustainability initiative, “A Sandal More,” which provides locally produced sandals to children in deprived schools—an intervention the Moderator warmly commended, noting that many Presbyterian schools in rural communities have pupils who lack proper footwear.
The bank also shared its capacity‑building programmes for church workers, entrepreneurs, women, and congregants, delivered in partnership with international consultants. Additional offerings discussed included financing for school infrastructure projects such as lecture halls and hostels, and a forthcoming church management solution designed to support effective administration, track attendance, manage member records, and facilitate digital giving.
Access Bank further expressed readiness to provide investment opportunities for church funds and introduced its Women Banking initiative, which seeks to inspire, empower, and connect women across various sectors.
The Moderator encouraged the bank to engage the church at both national and presbytery levels, noting that major gatherings provide excellent platforms to introduce products and services to congregants. He also invited Access Bank to take advantage of the church’s annual General Assembly in Kwahu Abetifi, where the bank could interact with businesspeople and leaders within the church.
