The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, is in Hamburg to dedicate a newly purchased chapel of the Asomdwoe Mma Congregation of the Europe Presbytery.

He is accompanied by the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, marking a historic joint visit to the congregation. The two Principal Officers were warmly received at the airport by the Europe Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Seth D. Adzokatse, the North Germany District Minister, the Session, and representatives of all groups within the congregation.

The visit coincides with a major moment for the Hamburg congregation, which has successfully purchased a chapel to serve its growing membership. The dedication of the new worship facility is a significant achievement for a congregation that is celebrating 29 years of ministry this year.

The Asomdwoe Mma Congregation has grown into a vibrant multicultural community with German and English worship segments and a membership of over 500 people. Over the years, the congregation has been served by several ministers, including Rev. Kofi Nyarko, Rev. Ebenezer Decker, Rev. Dr. J. W. Acheampong, Rev. Benjamin Appiah (now Brong Ahafo Presbytery Chairperson), and its current minister, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Kwesi Tete.

The church has also acquired a manse, further strengthening its infrastructural foundation. Hamburg serves as the District Head of the North Germany District, which oversees 16 congregations, preaching points, and GPWCs spread across six countries: Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, and Hungary.
