Asante Akyem Presbytery honours visually impaired teacher for 30 years of service
The Asante Akyem Presbytery has honoured Mr. Kwakye Nkrumah Samuel, a visually impaired Junior Youth teacher from the Asiwa District, for more than three decades of dedicated service to nurturing young people in the church.
The recognition was presented during the Presbytery’s Junior Youth Teachers’ Annual Assembly, held at the Emmaus Congregation in Konongo from 15th to 17th May 2026. For over 30 years, Mr. Kwakye has taught, mentored and guided generations of Junior Youth with remarkable patience and devotion, despite the limitations of his visual impairment.
His colleagues describe him as a teacher whose commitment has never been defined by his condition but by his deep love for God and his passion for shaping young lives. One participant noted that his life stands as a testimony that God’s work is accomplished not by sight, but by faith, perseverance and dedication.
Receiving the award, Mr. Kwakye expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and to the church for the honour. He encouraged fellow teachers to remain steadfast in their calling, reminding them that every child taught for Christ becomes a seed planted for the future of the church.
His words echoed the spirit of service that has characterised his ministry for decades. Presbytery leaders commended him for embodying the true essence of Christian service and urged other teachers to emulate his example of resilience, humility and unwavering faithfulness.
Mr. Kwakye’s story continues to inspire many within the Presbytery, serving as a powerful reminder that when God calls, He equips, and no challenge is too great to hinder a willing heart.
