First APWCE alumna Principal applauded
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has described the investiture of Principal, Prof. Mrs. Lydia Aframea Dankyi as a historic milestone in the life of Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education.
Speaking at the 17th Congregation of the College, he noted that her appointment as the 18th Principal is significant not only because she now leads one of Ghana’s respected Colleges of Education, but also because she is the first alumna of the institution to be entrusted with this responsibility.
The Moderator praised her saying her journey from student to Principal is “a powerful testimony to the transformative and rewarding power of education, perseverance, faith and service.” He assured her of the Church’s prayers and support as she leads the College into a new chapter of growth and excellence.
He commended the Governing Council, Management, Faculty, Staff, Alumni and stakeholders for their commitment to strengthening governance structures, pursuing academic excellence and supporting the College’s vision. He also expressed gratitude to parents and guardians for their sacrifices and encouragement.
The Moderator encouraged the College community to continue working together to uphold the institution’s legacy of discipline, Christian formation and service, noting that Agogo PWCE remains an important pillar in the Church’s long-standing commitment to education.
