The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has commended the Young Adults’ Fellowship (YAF) for its vibrancy and contribution to the life of the church, describing the group as “doing very well.”

Speaking at the Ebenezer Congregation in Agona Nsaba on the fourth day of his Central Presbytery pastoral tour, the Moderator noted that YAF is the only generational group with observer status at the General Assembly Council, a recognition of its growing importance in the church’s mission.

When asked by a YAF member for his assessment of the group, the Moderator light‑heartedly teased the gentleman, asking if he was sure he did not already know the answer. He then invited him forward, interacted warmly, and declared: “We are very happy with you.” The congregation responded with cheerful applause, affirming the Moderator’s endorsement.

Beyond his remarks on YAF, the Moderator used the occasion to reiterate key themes he has emphasised throughout his Central Presbytery tour. He reminded congregants of the church’s commitment to the Kutunse Project, which will serve as a landmark conference centre for PCG, and urged members to continue supporting fundraising efforts.

He also highlighted the Agenda 2 Million campaign, aimed at expanding membership across Ghana and the diaspora, and called on all generational groups including YAF to play their part in achieving this goal.

The Moderator further stressed the importance of unity. He urged congregants to focus on Christ as the foundation of the church’s mission, cautioning against divisions. He also reminded members that the upcoming bicentennial celebration in 2028 is a collective milestone that no one can exclude themselves from, describing it as a moment to reflect on PCG’s heritage and renew its mission for the future.

The Moderator’s Central Presbytery tour has already taken him through Kasoa (Kasoa, Nyanyano, Kasoa North, Kasoa South), Swedru (Swedru, Swedru North, Kwanyako, Winneba), and Asikuma (Asikuma, Besease, Brakwa). His arrival in Agona Nsaba, heralded by a colourful Brigade Parade, marked the last stop before the climax of the tour in Winneba on Sunday.
