Ga Presbytery medical screening starts
The Ga Presbytery has commenced its annual medical screening exercise for agents and their spouses, in line with the directive of the General Assembly for mandatory health checks across the church.
The exercise began today with Zone One, covering districts within Osu and its environs. Ministers, catechists, and their spouses turned up for the screening, which is aimed at safeguarding the health of those who serve the church and ensuring that they are fit to carry out their pastoral and administrative duties.
According to Presbytery officials, the initiative is part of the church’s broader commitment to the welfare of its agents. By making medical screening mandatory, the General Assembly seeks to promote preventive healthcare, detect early signs of illness, and encourage healthy lifestyles among church workers and their families.
The programme will continue on 4th March in the Tema Zone and conclude on 5th March in the Fafraha Zone, covering all agents and spouses within the Ga Presbytery. Medical professionals have been engaged to conduct comprehensive checks, including blood pressure, sugar levels, and other vital health indicators.
The Medical Screening Exercise has become an annual fixture in the church calendar, reflecting the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s holistic approach to ministry, caring for the body as well as the soul.
