Agenda 2 Million: Major gains recorded

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana is experiencing progressive growth under the Agenda 2 Million vision, with 491 new congregations planted across the 21 Presbyteries between January 2024 and April 2026. This achievement represents 46.4% progress toward the Church’s target of planting 1,000 new congregations by 2028.

The Department of Mission and Evangelism attributes this remarkable progress to intentional evangelism, strengthened discipleship, and the active involvement of congregations, districts, and generational groups.

Speaking at the second session of the PCG Connect series — an initiative introduced to deepen interaction between church leaders, congregants, and the wider public — the Mission and Evangelism Director, Rev. Dr. E. K. Sarbah, noted that “souls are not only being won but also being raised as witnesses of Christ,” reflecting the Church’s commitment to sustainable growth.

Membership statistics also show steady increases over the past seven years, with the Church surpassing 1.57 million members by 2025. Rev. Dr. Sarbah explained that since 2019, the PCG has experienced consistent growth due to its renewed passion for soul‑winning and improved mission strategies.

He added that the Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, and the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, have both championed the call for every member to participate actively in evangelism. The Church’s slogan — “One Member, One Soul, One Year” — continues to inspire members to take personal responsibility for the mission.

Rev. Dr. Sarbah expressed confidence that with continued collaboration, prayer, and commitment, the Church will achieve its Agenda 2 Million goals ahead of schedule.
