Bicentennial celebration: Presbyteries tasked to organise youth rallies
Young people of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) will be at the heart of the Bicentennial Anniversary celebrations following a directive for all 21 Presbyteries to organised Youth Rallies between April and October this year.
In a circular issued by the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, Presbyteries were instructed to mobilise the Junior Youth (JY), Young People’s Guild (YPG), Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade, and NUPS‑G under the theme: “PCG @ 200: The Presbyterian Youth Impacting Generations Through the Gospel.”
Rev. Aboagye‑Danquah emphasised that the rallies form a key part of the church’s 200‑year celebration and must reflect the rich legacy of Presbyterian witness. He urged Presbyteries to design programmes that inspire spiritual renewal, creativity, and a deeper sense of identity among the youth.
Each rally is expected to feature exhortations, prayer sessions, song ministrations, panel discussions, and creative expressions such as spoken word, choreography, and drama. These activities, the Clerk noted, should be carefully contextualised to highlight the Church’s historical journey and the generational impact of PCG youth over the decades.
As the PCG marks two centuries of evangelism, education, service, and nation‑building, the Youth Rallies are expected to ignite passion, strengthen fellowship, and affirm the role of young Presbyterians as torchbearers for the next century of Gospel impact.
