You’re collaborators in ministry
– Rev. Mavis Hannah Yeboah to new Catechists
The Acting Chairperson of the Asante Akyem Presbytery, Rev. Mavis Hannah Yeboah, has reminded newly consecrated Catechists in the presbytery that they are collaborators in ministry and must work harmoniously with their ordained ministers, serving as faithful helpers rather than assuming positions that could create conflict.
Her admonition was delivered during a solemn consecration service held at the Bethel Congregation, Konongo, where 21 Catechists from various districts within the Presbytery were inducted into active service after successfully completing their Lay Ministerial training at the Ramseyer Training Centre, Abetifi.
The service drew ministers, presbyters, family members, and well‑wishers who gathered to witness this important achievement in the life of the Presbytery. Representing the Director of the Ramseyer Training Centre, the Head of Programmes, Rev. Dr. Yaw Adu Boadu (PhD), conveyed the centre’s greetings and encouragement to the new Catechists, urging them to approach their calling with humility, diligence, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, the Class Representative, Cat. Stephen Arko, reflected on their training journey and how it had shaped their spiritual and ministerial growth. He encouraged his colleagues to remain steadfast in the work of the Lord and to contribute meaningfully to the mission and vision of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
As a gesture of appreciation, the class presented a flat‑screen television to the new Presbytery Guest House. With their induction, the newly commissioned Catechists are expected to support congregational life, strengthen mission work, and assist in nurturing the faith of members across the various districts.
