Show your Presbyterian identity – Moderator
The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has called on ministers and members of the church to be proud of their Presbyterian identity.
Leading the “Time with the General Assembly Office” session at the 2026 National Ministers’ Conference held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, he emphasised the importance of heritage, discipline, and branding in strengthening the Church’s witness.
“Be proud of your Presbyterian heritage. Identify with the church, be proud of it; let us harmonise our identity, and let our signages reflect who we are,” the Moderator urged, reminding ministers that the church’s distinctiveness must be celebrated and preserved as it approaches its bicentennial celebrations.
He also outlined key priorities for the year ahead, including the Agenda 2 Million growth strategy, the planting of 1,000 new bicentennial congregations, and renewed focus on African mission and national crusades. Discipline in conduct, dress code, marital issues, and welfare of retired ministers were highlighted as essential to the integrity of the Church.
Other directors of the seven departments of the Church, along with unit heads, presented reports and outlooks for 2026. Head of Legal, Lawyer Richard Dua-Ansah, and Property Manager, Rev. Patrick Armah, outlined plans for improved reporting of legal issues and stewardship of assets.
Public Relations Officer Mr. Jerome Otchere emphasised strengthening the church’s communication and public image, while Head of I.T., Mr. Enoch Nartey, shared innovations in digital platforms for administration.
The session underscored the Presbyterian tradition of accountability and transparency, with delegates engaging leaders on issues including PCG TV, finance, Salem Water, and almanac publication.
